We hope you can join us at the Association’s Annual Meeting! This year the event is to be hosted by the Grafton Historical Society, and will take place from 10AM-12AM on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the East Grafton Union Church (located at 80 Turnpike Road in Grafton).
Members and non-members alike are welcome at the Annual Meeting. Its agenda calls for official business to be addressed first, including election of officers and reporting on the organization’s finances. Following official business, the Association will recognize its 2018 Local History Award winners; these awards highlight the outstanding work of organizations and individuals who seek to preserve, interpret, and/or promote appreciation and understanding of an aspect of New Hampshire history.
The meeting will conclude with an open forum, using a fluid “question and answer” format to facilitate discussion between directors, award winners, and other attendees. This is a unique opportunity to meet with colleagues from across the state. Refreshments will follow the meeting, at which point the Grafton Historical Society will offer attendees the opportunity to enjoy an informal walking tour of its properties.
The mission of the 67-year old all-volunteer Association of Historical Societies of New Hampshire is to encourage and assist in the study, preservation, and understanding of New Hampshire’s history. We hope to see you on October 27th!
It’s not too late to nominate an outstanding organization, project, or individual for a Local History Award! Just download our nomination form and submit by October 6, 2018.
